After our class critique, I narrowed down my logotypes to these 10. I used the feedback that I got from their original versions and tweaked them accordingly. I changed font sizes, circle sizes, the giraffe to the letter "A" as opposed to "R", etc.

7 step morphology
This is my 7 step morphology logo design. I fount this exercise helpful. It enabled me to visualize different logos by simply adding and subtracting small sections until I got to the point that I wanted it to be resolved. I found this easier than trying to create an entirely new logo based on a different component (continuation, proximity, etc.). I ended up choosing the 3rd step from my 7 step morphology as my final logo design. I still need to touch up a few sections within the animal print.

Giraffe mindmap
You can barely see them but these are my mind maps for my giraffe logo. I created 2 because I got stuck on my first one. They ended up going in about the same direction. I ended up with a few business ideas that I wasn't 100% sure about, but I feel like a giraffe is a hard animal to associate with anything but its natural habitat or a zoo.
Architecture Firm- I came up with this Idea because giraffes are obviously very large and tall and almost represent skyscapers when looked at industrially. I thought it would be fitting to have it represent large standing structures. I also tried to veer away from the silly connotations that are often associated with giraffes as logos (ex. toys r' us).
Catering Service- This idea is a little far fetched but I came to it by associating giraffes with elegance, etiquette, dining, and then eventually catering. I kind of liked the thought of elegance and sophistication being portrayed through a giraffe.
Wildlife Preservation- This idea is very cliche and obvious. A giraffe would clearly be a fitting logo but not much of a challenge in getting my point across.

First logo sketches
We were practicing the different principles of design in class. These are a few sketches that I drew in my notebook by hand.
